Tattoos and that certain style

June 25th, 2008

I for one love tattoos. Depending on the certain style of the person, I think tattoos can be very attractive. Men with the right “look” can be very attractive with their tattoos. I think there is a difference in a guy with one tattoo on his arm, or his back and a guy who is covered in them. Personally I would rather see a guy covered in tattoos, especially the sleeve than a guy with one macho wannabe-looking mark on his shoulder. To me, if someone has many tattoos it is evident that they are really into them and not just getting a tattoo because they think it would be “cool” to have one. I find the “Abercrombie” type guys with a only one or two tattoos are pretty cheesy. It’s almost like they are trying to prove a point. Hard to explain and I am sure not 100% true but that is the vibe I get when I see them. Men like Chris Carrabba of the band Dashboard Confessionals and Travis Barker of Blink 182 have a certain style about them that makes tattoos look great on them.

Women and tattoos are totally different. I think it is completely beautiful to have just one or two. I am not opposed to women having numerous tattoos such as Kat Von D, I think she looks great. My one and only tattoo is pretty small and on my lower back. It is lower than most in that area and it consists of four stars. On larger one and three smaller ones on top. The lines are very precise. Messy lines make me crazy so mine just had to be perfect. I have had a couple of years and it still looks great. It is really important where you go to get it done. I made sure I went to a very reputable place and checked out the artists work before I made my decision.

Well I am done ranting about my tattoo interest. :) Now I am going to think of another one I can get!!!

My Dinner Made Me Proud!

June 18th, 2008

Before I begin, I will give you a brief description of myself… I am almost 26 years old, have been married just over a year, and we are expecting our first child in Oct of 2008. :) Growing up, my mom always made great homemade dinners. We are Italian so many nights we would have an Italian dish of some sort. She is a great cook. I on the other hand and not the best. Well I take that back. I just don’t really try but when I do, it is usually good. With motivation, I can make a great meal. I have made things from homemade Pasta, to Chicken Parmesan, Tacos, Burgers, Tortilla Soup, and some other things. Tonight, I decided to make a chicken and veggie stir fry. I used chicken tenders (chicken breast already cleaned and trimmed), and frozen veggies. I cut the tenders into small chunks and put them in a frying pan with olive oil. I turned on the heat and added chopped pieces of garlic from the jar, fresh lemon juice, and worschteshire sauce. I cooked that for a while all together until the chicken looked pretty much done. After thawing the bag of veggies, I dumped them into the pan also. Then I added a little more garlic and a tiny dash of salt. I am really against using things that are high in sodium like soy sauce or those seasoning packets. This combination of ingredients was my way of getting around having to use anything like that. I kept the lid on the pan for the most part and would stir it up a little now and then. It smelled delicious! I can’t even tell you how much of each ingredient I used, I just added until it looked right. It was so simple and when my husband came home he said how wonderful it smelled in the house! I was so proud of my creation! I have made stir fry before and the flavor hadn’t come out quite right. This time, it was PERFECT!!! I also made rice to go along with it and we ended up mixing it into our stir fry. We also had fruit cocktail. ( I love it!!) This meal was so simple and it took only an hour including prep time. The only prepping I had to do with cutting up the chicken. I just wanted to share how easy cooking can be. Inexpensive, quick, and delicious! We have a tendency to go out to dinner a lot but now that I am pregnant I want to try to eat healthier and save money. Both which can be done by making home cooked meals!!! I hope you try my recipe and let me know what you think. We certainly thought it was deeeeeelicious! Hmmm…. what should I make tomorrow???
